P-I-C-U, to the PICU we'll be true!

Ari is doing well off the vent. He is much better when mom or dad is within eyesight and touching him, but overall doing very well.

He is in the long dance of weaning off oxygen and meds. The docs have decided to keep him in the PICU for another day and see how he does. I was very good with that. While his color is good and his numbers continue to improve, he's still lethargic, barely moves and pulls hard for air periodically. I don't think he's ready for step-down nursing care. My little guy is tricky. He's very good at playing possum, and I am all for being sure that he is doing great before we move along. We have had great care here in the PICU and having those attentive eyes on him a day or two more would just be dandy.

He has unfortunately developed an aversion to any healthcare professional touching him and in a rare movement of typical Ari today, he did his best to shut out the world.

Love to all,
Dorothy
